At half distance, Emmet has taken 2:57:17, indicating a finishing time of 5 hours 54 minutes. John's time at the same stage of the Dublin marathon was 3:09:34 so Emmet has kept his 12 minute lead from the 10km mark.

The e-mail with this update was late arriving and the latest split we have is 3:43:51 at 16 miles, meaning Emmet has slowed a little, in line for a 6 hour 7 minute finishing time if he can keep up his pace so far. Chances are, he'll slow more over the last 10km or so but John's time from last week is still on the menu.
